Happy Saturday
and
Welcome to this months Blog Hop
with
The Creating Blog Hops Cafe'

This month we have made some Mini Albums to share with you. If you have just stopped by to visit with me, thank you and welcome, but please start at the beginning of the hop with our Hostess, Robin Lane with Create-A-LatteWe would not want you to miss any of these wonderful projects.

So, grab yourself a Latte', sit back and hop along with us as we share our projects with you.

I took an empty Girl Scout Mint cookie box, ( I had plenty..just sayin') and cut the top and bottom flaps off. I cut the right side panel off, the nutrition info, because no one needs that.. LOL just kidding to make a book. I used a mountain/valley fold to make a binding on the left inside panel to hold 3 paper sacks (Hobby Lobby). I added Girl Scout paper to both the front and back inside covers, covered the sacks, and made tags for the sacks. I also put flaps on the right side of the sacks for more added places for photos/journaling or in this case, encouragement for the person that this is going to. I think she'll like all the secret places, and can add her photos of her troop. Take a look:

That's a lot of places for photos and keepsakes! I had the Cadette Girls at a recent Book Artist badge program make these and they used their favorite box of cookies. I hadn't decorated mine so they would have a clean slate and decorate theirs as they desired. Added a twill ribbon to both sides to tie it shut!

March 18 - 24, 2014
Challenge - Anything goes using using Green, Blue, Red, Yellow and Teal.
The design team is using the Simple Stories Homespun paper line for this weeks creations.  I absolutely love this line.

Simple Stories Homespun 6x6 paper pack

Be sure to stop by the Cuttin' and Stampin' Scrappy Supplies store and pick up your collection of paper, stickers, pocket cards and other bits and pieces.

The design team has created some really awesome cards with this paper.

Here's a complete photo of my project! And scroll down to see a 2nd project.

DSC04357

I used a red pre-cut piece with hearts in it, backed it with heart print paper in a variety of colors, layered the heart die cut on a small heart in the upper right corner. Added the Green Sentiment over a small piece with the heart border and the whole project just over flows with love!!

This card I used some floral paper with all the colors on it, added a red ribbon and bow. Stamped seed packets, with tomatoes, and radish stamps and colored them in. They reminded me that Spring is just around the corner, and we'll be out in our garden soon! Added the Compost Happens stamp and it's ready to send to someone who is having a rough day!

You'll find all materials in the store over at Cuttin and Stampin. Check out the store for these awesome papers and stamps!

I made 3 different books for my project this month! Bags, Tags and more!

Here's a story-a Teacher told her class to draw a red flower with green stem.. and the class did so. One day one of the girls moved to a new school. Her teacher told the class to draw and she just sat there. The teacher asked what was the matter, and she said, "you didn't tell us what to draw." The teacher said to draw whatever she wanted. So she drew a red flower with a green stem. The moral of the story- she didn't know how to use her imagination or creativity. So I made these and didn't finish them for the program so they'd have a blank slate and could embellish them as they wanted. I had stamps, stickers, and punches, and markers so they had plenty of options.

First a book from my favorite Girl Scout Cookies- Thin Mints
DSC04248DSC04249DSC04251

I recently retired from being staff with our local Girl Scout Council, but still volunteer in various areas. I did a Book Artist Badge for the Cadette Girl Scouts and they were learning about bindings, etc. so we made 3 different books and bound them differently. First we made a book from empty cookie boxes. We're right in the middle of our sale, so plenty of boxes.. We used the gluing system, with the folds and red line tape and put sacks on each fold. We covered the sacks with pretty paper, and added flaps. The girls could then decorate as desired.  I'm going to finish mine with photos my granddaughter's troop is taking to Savannah later this year.
Next we made a book out of toilet paper rolls. Yes, and they couldn't believe my book was made from those! We used three rolls, flattened them, covered in pretty paper, and the girls used my Bind It All to put the o rings in them. They loved using the tools.
DSC04253DSC04254
They used punches and embellished them as they desired.
Finally we used those brown lunch sacks  (3) and made these simple books. They used the Crop-A-Dile to punch holes..thought that was cool!!
DSC04258
They used a rubber band and golf pencil to bind them. They punched two holes, pulled the rubber band up through them and threaded the pencil in.They loved all the pockets, and secret places to put notes in or special photos in.
