You should have come here via Christina Capps - http://cema1cema.blogspot.com/ You don't want to miss any blogs.. great prize from Heather our Hostess!
Now for my project (s) First I made an Owl to wish my clients HO HO HO OT! during the holidays! How fun is he??

The paper 9 x 10 from a stack at Hobby Lobby, owl is from the Silhouette store, and Ho Ho Ho is from CTMH Art Philospy. I cut the extra OT from Cricut Keystone. Layered the lettering on an embossed background, then a red mat and added some brads and a ribbone. The Ho Ho HO/mats were my Christmas cards this year... The clients loved him as I perched the frame (Wal-Mart) 1.97.. where they sign in at each day. Then I made two additional Owl projects... because once I knew I was going to take part in this hop, owls seemed to pop up everywhere!

This blingy owl is a sticker (Paper Studio) from Hobby Lobby. Being in pink, I"m sure it's a girl but doesn't she look like she's ready to party? How could I not invite her to this party? The sentiment is from a CTMH Valentine set, so for at least once, I'm ready for an upcoming holiday.. I put the owl on the black background so she'd pop, layered it on a pink mat, all on a white base. I stamped on white, layered it on pink, and then onto the black. Added some pink twine, with a gold heart button, and done! Quick and easy, but oh so cute!!

This owl is a Print and Cut shape from Silhouette. I just didn't cut it out.. but cut a rectangle, layered on a green patterned paper, on a white base. I love white bases so it's easy to add a message or sentiment inside the card. I stamped Thinking of You (CTMH) okay, can you tell I sell CTMH? Added some green gems for some bling, and again, quick and easy but so cute! I don't think it has to be time consuming to create a great card to convey a special message, and your receipent will be thrilled you thought of them! I hope you enjoyed your visit here. I hope your holidays are blessed and please continue to pray for the victims of Newtown, CT, as these parents/families face the holidays without their beloved family member. Now from here you're off to: Paula http://scrapyourworld1.blogspot.com/.

Thanks so much for joining us!! We really appreciate each and everyone of you!

Brrrr--- It's the first day of Winter and last night we had snow! And wind! Mostly wind.. but some snow and at this point, less than an inch but who knows when I get up in the morning.. my granddaughter was so excited. We didn't get much snow last year! Anyway-I hope you started at Ashley's blog http://thebloghopprincess.blogspot.com/. She's got prizes for this hop, so don't miss out and be sure to check for any special instructions over there. Now here at my blog, since it's the holidays and I'm in a giving spirit.. I have blog candy as well! CTMH stamps, other misc. crafting supplies... it'll be a grab bag of fun, certainly not a "dirty Santa" kind of thing.. so how to win??? Please leave a comment, good, bad, or just holiday greetings if you want.. and if you want to follow me, that's super!! I'd love to get to 400 and if and when I do, there'll be a big party and give away!! You should have come here via Vanessa http://wwwpaperkraftsunlimiteddesings.blogspot.com/ blog. Don't miss any blogs on the way, there's awesome projects to give you plenty of ideas I'm sure! I'll have to hop when I get home from work.. that pesky work gets in the way of my fun! Here's my project, I made a 2 page layout all ready for our Snow Fun this winter!

I used some cute snowman paper from our Hobby Lobby. Added some blue mats and layers from a paper stack. The icicle toppers are from a Creative Kuts file, and the snowman at the bottom are from a package of die cuts from Wal-mart. The Jack Frost nipping at your nose was printed in a white gel pen from a Silhouette file with my Cameo. I love how you can print fine lettering.. and the white gel pen really gives it a frosty appearance. In both corners are flourishes that looked like Jack Frost was blowing snow to me. They don't show up well in the photos, but there are snowflakes on them and I added bling to those. The white box is earmarked for some journaling so bring on the snow and I'll have photos in no time for this layout!

Thanks for stopping by today! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Good Morning! And Merry Christmas to all! Well, I"m a bit early but it's my turn to post today for Creative Kuts and I wanted to be sure to tell you all that I hope your holidays are special. I, along with most everyone in our country, have been grieving over the loss of the 20 children and 6 adults in the horrible events of 12-14-12 in Newtown, CT. I can't begin to imagine the loss they must feel and it made me stop and think of my family, and how blessed I am. I have hugged my grand daughter tighter, prayed for the ones that live in other states, and for all my family members. Today I used a file, Ribline http://www.creativekuts.com/Rib-Line-RL6.htm?categoryId=-1. I know Cheryl created this for her son and his restaurant. He's quite the chef and has competed in food cook-offs. My family loves to grill out too and when we do, usually everyone's invited. Take a look at my layout, then I'll fill you in on who's who's...

This was Easter 2011-okay, I'm behind.. but now seemed liked a good time to go through some photos and remember how important my family is to me. This is my nephew. We were all at his house and he is the grill king! Hamburgers, Hot dogs, Brats, and gosh knows what else was on that grill but it was full! On the 2nd page, is from top left to right, my oldest daughter, myself and my sister, myself and my granddaughter. In the bottom photo is my niece, and her two daughters, my nephew's youngest daughter and my granddaughter. Do you see my silly brother-in-law in the background making faces and waving his arms? I used some checked background paper that reminded me of a tablecloth in a homey diner.. I cut all images out with my Silhouette Cameo on white cardstock and used Copics to color everything in. I cut the top and bottom borders with a Martha Stewart punch. We had a fun time watching the kids hunt Easter Eggs, and eating, and just spending some time together this year. The weather was a little chilly but not too bad to enjoy a day outdoors.

I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday, and that you'll want to document your family's precious time and to make it easy, check out Creative Kuts store.. http://creativekuts.com/ for files that will fit any occasion. Be sure to head over to Facebook and like Creative Kuts fan page. There is always fun there! Don't forget to visit the blog at http://creativekuts.blogspot.com/ for other great projects daily! Please take some time to say a prayer for all those involved in this tragedy, and remember them as they lay to rest the victims of this horrorific event. God Bless!

The 2nd photo shows my stamped sentiment, also from the same stamp set.

Welcome to our yummy hop today! Cookies make everything better don't they? This time of the year we're making our favorites!! If you just happened onto my blog, please start at Lisa's,  http://honeybearzdesigns2011.blogspot.com/ so you don't miss out on anything! If you're hopping then you shoud have come here via Diana - http://daisylovecreations.blogspot.com/  Now here at my blog it's all about the Chocolate.. which I love but these are NOT my favorite cookies. They are my hubby's and every holiday, my oldest daughter has to make these for the family get together. That's her speciality! We all have those one dishes that everyone knows we're bringing and if someone brought it, it just wouldn't taste right! Mine is the Dressing! Anyway back to cookies, here's my layout, then we'll chat about it.

I cut the title from a Silhouette file. The little boy is from a Creative Kuts candy bar wrapper. I added our recipe for No Bake Cookies and photos of my daughter and her daughter ( who loves to help in the kitchen) and my hubby! He'll eat the whole batch if you turn your back. We usually try to make them when he isn't home and just leave him a few out to enjoy before the big dinner. Otherwise, these are his appetizers!  that little boy is already grabbing one for himself! And if he does see them, and they are set up yet, he'll get a spoon and rake them off the waxed paper. This recipe is so easy and never fails, but the secret is to let it boil for one minute!! Sets up great every time! They do have oats in them so I wonder if that makes them healthy? And now they say, Chocolate is good for you, so hey, a two for one in the snack/health area! That's my story and I'm sticking to it or it could be sticking to me if I changed my mind about these being my favorite. Happy Holidays and may they be the sweetest ones ever! Now on to Maria Matter ~ http://joyfulstamper.blogspot.com/ to see what's she got cookin' for us! Have fun!

Hello! So today is Thursday.. I know I usually post on Fridays for Creative Kuts, but on the December Calendar.. got moved up! Maybe I should title this "Moving On Up!" It's really Holiday Prep (http://www.creativekuts.com/Holiday-Preps-HP1129.htm ) and aren't we all in the midst of preparing for the upcoming holidays? I used this file to make this 3 page layout! Check it out, then we'll chat!

Aren't they cute?? All my little Gingerbread people are making cookies.. how fun are they? This is one file! If you're a card maker, or a scrapbooker, this file will give you plenty of options! The stove would be a great place to park some journaling (date/month/who's in the photos, etc.) or how about making one of the componets open with hidden messages or a tag with your favorite cookie recipe? I layered mine on what reminds me of  a tablecloth in a diner. Added mats/borders and my places for photos, recipes, etc. This could be used in a Recipe album as well!  I added some bling near the photo mats, and trimmed up their little aprons, and added a bow. All these pieces are easy to cut by hand if you don't have the ability to use an electronic cutter. Creative Kuts has a ton of new files over in the store, http://www.creativekuts.com and lots of ideas on the blog at http://creativekuts.blogspot.com
so be sure to check out both those sites!! Thanks for stopping by today and have a sweet holiday season!

Welcome everyone to our Snowman & Their Pals Blog Hop!

Now for my project: I used the Snowman Pals for my first project - Holiday Pals

I just love this file! The snowman has gotten a present with little snowmen all over it.. he's probably thinking it's exactly what's on his wish list! All his pals are anxiously awaiting to see what's in it! Then this cute little penquin jumps out! How fun!! Can't you just see your children's or granchildren's photos here on Christmas Eve or morning as they open their presents? Here's some close ups of the pals.

I used Stickles to make the snowman and snow glisten, and Red on the Holly Berries.
My 2nd project was this file - Holiday Prep

These little gingerbread girls are obviously fans of Cupcake Wars and made the biggest cupcake they could! Maybe they're shooting for a world's record! At any rate, this is not only perfect for your holiday baking photos, but would be great for Valentine's Day as well! You know we love gingerbread anytime of the year with with the heart sprinkles, perfect for any reason to show  your love for someone special!

Wouldn't this element be great on a card? I think so! I hope you enjoyed my layouts for this hop! We've had so much fun focusing on Snowmen and all their pals!

Welcome! Girls love to Shop and at my age, which is far from a girl, I love to shop too! My sister is the shopaholic in my family. Last year after we ate our Thanksgiving lunch, she loaded anyone who wanted to go into her car and we looked for places that were open to shop. We found a few. This year with all the stores starting their sales early, she went out Thursday evening, and Friday morning. This is after spending the previous weekend shopping in Indianapolis, and Edingburg with her daughters and granddaughter! So I thought this page will be pefect to put her photo in as Christmas is the time when she goes into mega shop mode! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out "Dashing Through The Dough", and added a silhouette shopping diva (both from the Silhouette store) to this beautiful old fashioned Christmas paper (Hobby Lobby). Added some bling on her bags and a red bow! She's ready to shop as long as she has dough or plastic! I hope you like it!

Isn't it kinda cool how she looks like she's holding that Santa? Maybe an ornament she's thinking she needs for her tree... Or she's his best assistant! Now on to
I have some blog candy myself! A stamp set from Close To My Heart! To increase your chances, let me know you're already a follower, or become one!
Leave a comment! I love to hear your thoughts on my projects, or the new blog header!
And be sure to leave a way to contact you!

Good Morning!! Today I used the following file from Creative Kuts to make my layout.
This file and several more are in the new section over at the webstore!

Now check out my layout, then I'll tell you what I was thinking!

In the file, you get the beautiful Angele, bench and light post. I cut it all with my Silhouette Cameo. Easy Peasy! I used various colored cardstock, inked the pieces, trimmed them up, etc. I had the background paper from a stack I picked up at JoAnn's. Then I had gotten these metal stickers and there were clocks in that package! They are heavy.., anyway, I cut the Enjoy Every Moment out with the Cameo as well. It's a design in the Silhouette store. Added my photo mat and done! I'd like to think she's thinkin which store she's heading to next for all the sales this time of the year... LOL
or taking a break from all the shopping! She could be thinking she needs to visit the Creative Kuts store as you do, to see all the newest files over there!
If you've visited my blog before you know that Creative Kuts has a BAP program. Build A Project, you get a file on Monday or Tuesday, create, photograph, post and then you can play the following week. Lately, they've had bonus files if you post by Friday! Here's this week BAP, a cute card but I made a layout.

You can lift his nose and find a secret journaling box. I think I'm going to put one of my grandkids photo here, with their Christmas list in the journaling box. That should be fun to look back years from now and see what was on their wish list! The Get Your Merry On, is from the Silhouette Store.  If you aren't playing along with us over on Facebook, I hope you'll join in the fun!
Thanks for stopping by today and head over to http://creativekuts.blogspot.com/ to see more great ideas.
And stop by on Saturday for our Snowman Blog Hop! Great projects by the design team... trust me, I've peeked!

I used a chipboard letter set from K and company, a page from one of their sets dedicated to Girl Scouts and a sticker that's been in my stash for some time. I thought the tree reminded me of a family tree. My Mom had been my leader as a child, (no I didn't know Juliette personally, but I've been asked that) and when my oldest daughter started 1st grade, she brought home a sign-up sheet. I was going through a divorce and thought that might be perfect for her and if I volunteered it'd force me to plan some time just for her and I. I volunteered to be a leader, and wrote in, "if you tell me what to do". I got a call from the organizer who told me that she had over 100 forms sent back but no one else volunteered. I promptly said, "I don't have to take them all do I?" She reassured me that I didn't and there was training. That led me on a path that not only helped the girls, but me! My self-esteem was so low and those little girls would hug me and just loved what we did and I loved the time I spent volunteering. Our little troop grew and I took on more roles in the service unit, and became a Council trainor. When I had an opportunity to join the staff I did and thought what a perfect job! To pay me to do something that I loved!! I spent 13 years as a staff member and recently retired in the council's realignment. I can't find the photo of my daughter and now her daughter is involved, and I was my granddaughter's leader for K and 1st grade. I wanted to put their photo in the top section. The bottom photo is my youngest daughter and I at a Senior banquet. I was her leader until I joined the staff. She had amazing opporunities as a scout and got to travel to the Macy Center in New York, to two World Centers, one in England, and one in Switzerland! I was so jealous! She planned a trip for Junior Girl Scouts as her Gold Project and they spent several days exploring Washington D.C. Her troop visited Savannah, Ga. twice! She is a lifetime member as I am. 4 generations! We have green blood, and if you're a girl in my family, you'll probably gonna be a scout! I was also a leader for my great niece's troop when she was in K and 1st. I put a scout (stamp from My Favorite Things) for each of us, my Mom, my daughters, my granddaughter and I. I used markers to color them in. If I can find a photo of my mom, I'm going to add it on an adjoining page and will put the history of our involvment as well.
As a staff member, volunteers gave me one of the highest awards in Girl Scouting, the Thanks Badge. I was so proud!! If you're reading this and have a girl, please check into Girl Scouts. It's a wonderful program and you'll be glad you did! I feel certain of that! Thanks for stopping by my blog today and I'll post the line up if you should lose your way. Now you're heading to Roberta Meyers-Edmisten - http://thepapercraftingleague.blogspot.com/ to see and learn more about her! Have fun!

This is the Miss Elf file over at Creative Kuts! She was a free file on Monday and Tuesday for the BAP! Each Monday/Tuesday they give away a free file, you make it, post a photo of your project on their website.. and you can play again the next week! How cool is that? Anyway, this takes two candy canes. I used the SweeTarts Candy Canes. They are so bright and colorful, and a little non-tradional holiday colors but so was my paper I used. Bright pink, greens, orange and light blue mittens. Wouldn't these be cute standing on your table for placecards? Maybe the kid's table, but I know some adults who have a sweet tooth! I trimmed her dress/boots in some Stickles, and added a cute bow. She's ready for the upcoming holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! May it be a safe one if you're traveling.

Welcome Earthlings!
You've landed on Janet's Planet... my Creative World! My little bear astronaut is ready to show you around. Now the blog header just was finished.. but give me a few days, then when you click the buttons in the header, it will take you to projects using those machines! Isn't that fun? You can just concentrate on the projects that interest you, or explore and see what I've been up to! This little guy is from Teddy Bear Parade and cut at 5 inches! He's the perfect mascot for my blog today, don't you think? I hope you'll stop back by often!

Creative Kuts has added a line called Runway.. girls dressed up in their fine clothes.. and this file came with the street lamp and park bench! Here's the link if you'd like to check it out or other ones in this line.  http://www.creativekuts.com/Colette-La-Jolie-Femme-CLJF1024.htm

Since she was all bundled up in her fur trimmed coat, which I embossed those pieces, and her hand warmer, I layered it all on a snowflake background, with photo mats in the same pattern only a lighter version and I chalked the street lights so they actually look like they glow! With the holly on her hat, you can almost picture a park like setting with carolers can't you? Okay, maybe I've watched one to many Christmas shows... anyway, I just love this girl and her big eyes.. I have to do some more of the girls in this line..

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Good Morning! Today I wanted to share a couple of cards that I'll be having a group of Cadette Girl Scouts make this week when I talk to their troop about card making. I think they'll love them! Take a look and tell me what you think!

Aren't they cute? That 3 day Teddy Bear Blog Hop over on Facebook really inspired me to get this cartridge out and try some bears! The First one is a z fold type card, and the tag covers up the sentiment until the card is opened. I am not sure who had this card on their blog, but I cased it! Seems like Mary from CardTV??? Thank you so much for the inspiration!! This will be perfect for the girls to make and give their parents or even a grandparent!

The second one is for Thanksgiving. Everyone does turkeys but not quite like this one!  He'd better be careful or he could be dinner! I used background paper for both cards from stacks at JoAnn's. I picked up the bling at Hobby Lobby. I think the girls will have a great time paper piecing these cards and be proud of them! Maybe they'll invite me back to do more paper projects with them. Thanks for stopping by today!

I used Dec. 25th, Speaking of Winter, Very Merry Tags, and Mini-Books as well as Camp Out to complete my projects! As you look at each one, I'll tell you all about it.
For this home decor project (it will be at my dining site the month of Dec.) I used Teresa Collins Dec. 25th to cut the tree shaped HoHoHo Noel Peace Believe Holiday subway art. I added two trees from Speaking of Winter and a cabin from Camp Out. I layered it all on the plaid background paper(Hobby Lobby) and I think it looks woodsy.. Put it all in a document frame from Wal-Mart.

I used the Dec. 25th Cartrdige to cut this Santa and his sleigh out of vinyl, put in on a glass block, and then put ornaments (20 for 3.50 at Wal-Mart) added string of battery operated lights, and a pretty bow. You can't tell in the photo, but when the lights are on, it's really cute!! I may take it to work for decor there.. This would be a great gift for someone in a small apartment/limited space..

I used Mini-Books to make this gift card holder. It's a page from one of the books (makes a pocket) and it has holes at the bottom, you could probably remove those in CCR or with the Gypsy, but I left them to add trim such as ribbon or twine. I decided I didn't like that so I just put my ribbon at the bottom which covered them up.. I cut an extra glove out so it looks like it's holding the envelope shut, but actually there's a notch there for the flap to fit into. Since we give ur grown kids gift cards these days.. these wil be great!!

I used Very Merry Tags to make these. They are perfect for packages, but  I made them larger to use as ornaments on my tree. I also think they'd be great to put the children's or grandchildren's photos on the back with the year. Easy to send to far away relatives, or to just see how they grow over the years. If you start a tradition like that now, by the time they leave home, they'd have a great collection or how cute to scapbook the ornaments for a life long of celebrations! I added some bling ot the letters for sparkle. I used double sided paper, so not only does that show through the letters, but on the back they're different. pretty from both sides. Again, this is a project the kids could do! What a nice tradition that could become setting aside some time to make decor as a family!
I hope you enjoyed your visit here, and Have a wonderful holiday season!.

We're celebrating friends and family today-I made a card to send to our Thanksgiving dinner hostess.

The Stamp is from Close To My Heart. The paper is from a stack from JoAnn's. Ribbon is from Stampin' Up, bling from Wal-Mart. It's a simple card, no excuse not to send a thank you when you can make one quick and easily, and sometimes we forget what's really important in life. We get caught up in all the trimmings and the extras, but when you have family near by and can enjoy a day with them, that's something to be Thankful for. A simple sentiment that reminds us of what is important as we move into the Thanksgiving holiday season.
My family always tries to have Thanksgiving dinner together. The food, the laughter, the fun.. is all worth the extra work that goes into it. We each have our specialty that we make... my daughter makes the No Bake Cookies.. they're an appetizer with our bunch.. I make the dressing, one pan with oysters, one pan without..my sister makes the ham or the turkey and I do the other.. her two daughters, and my other daughter always bring whatever else we want. We can count on a table full of desserts, pie, cake, candy, and yes there are vegetables.. and I love Sweet Potatoes and my granddaughter loves the marshmallow on them. The guys move to one room to watch the football while the girls find something to do.. sometimes games, or the Christmas movies on,  but last year we took advantage of the preseason sales and shopped! That way the guys didn't realize how long we were gone.. but we got some great bargins!! I hope your Thanksgiving is a wonderful day.
Head over to Anita and Bugs to see her great creation!

Prayers for all in the Northeast and the path of the storm!! Today's theme was any kind of card. Since the stores have all the Christmas items out.. I made a Christmas card. I used Teresa Collins Dec. 25th to make this Noel cut. It's such a beautiful cartridge, and this cut could be used on any number of items.. might just make it an embellishment when I wrap my presents... anyway, take a look:

I made the card base from Red cardstock.  I stocked up on a whole package of red the other day when it was on sale.. knew I'd need red at some point through the holidays. I layered a paper from a cardstock for the holidays and inked the edges. Added some red bling on the E (gotta have bling for the holidays) and added a red ribbon bow! Easy, now cards this easy, the kids could help make, and no excuse not to make some cards for your gift giving this year. What a wonderful holiday tradition that could be if the family made their cards and then sent them out.. with designs like this, they'd be so proud to say they did it themselves, and the receipents would be so glad to get them!

2. How long have I been married?
It will be 18 years in January

3. What is my favorite restaurant?
Texas Roadhouse, but I haven't met a restaurant I haven't liked yet.. if I don't have to cook or clean -up, I'm happy!

4. What do I do in my spare time?
Crafts, I love paper crafts, stamping, scrapbooking, but I also love fabric, and if I can make something instead of buying it, I will at least try..

5. Who influenced me into crafting?
I had two aunts who taught me how to sew, one made my Barbie the best clothes ever.. even furs.. and the other Aunt showed me how to make the yarn octopus' for your beds and the dolls out of the milk pods.. they were popular in the late 50's and early 60s. I loved my doll on my bed, and her skirt just laid out so pretty all tied with ribbons. If I had one now, I'd probably make my bed more... LOL

6. What activities did I do as a child?
I read, read, read... I was in Girl Scouts, and 4-H

7. What has been my most rewarding experience?
Volunteering for the local Girl Scout Council, with my daughters, moving up in that role and joining the council as staff. I have met more girls and adults and I learned so much from all of them, and got to see new places and do new things and I am so appreciative of all of them who told me that I did so much for them. They have no idea how much they did for me.

8. What do I do now?
I am retired from Council staff but work 20 hours a week fixing lunch for Seniors and Disabled residents of  a housing complex. It's rewarding too, but sad, to see so many living on the edge..

9. What is my favorite TV reality program?
Right now, it's the Beards!! I love Duck Dynasty! Not that I want to eat the wild game they do, but they are so funny and without even trying! That's the time I can watch tv and no matter how my day went, I know I'm gonna laugh! I love Si!! He's got such an innocence about him, nothing fake... Willie and Jase have a typical brotherly relationship! Phil has a remarkable story..

10. Do I have any goals?
I live in Indiana! Everyone in Indiana has a goal..
it's all about Basketball here.. well, I'm not a sports person...but I hope to be a blessing to all those around me.
