Challenge:  Anything Goes with a Family twist

November 12 - 18, 2013

We are celebrating family this week.

I made two projects this week. I used the Family word stamp set. I love how many options there are for any needs a family might need! First my husband's birthday is coming up on the 16th! I used all the male terms as a subway art type piece, because he is all those things to our family. Hubby to me..

Then for some reason as I thought about this set and how I might use it, I dreamed of  a family tree. I thought these might be a perfect way to label family members. So I threw together this idea so you could see what I had in mind, and once I add some photos, will finish embellishments. I blurred out the dates of their births just for some identity protection.

The photo mats are paper from the shop, so when you're shopping, you'll find both the paper and the stamp set. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you'll join the challenge!

Thanks for playing along we will be announcing the winners on November 22, 2013.

Challenge:  Giving Thanks

November 5 - 11, 2013

We want to Give Thanks for all the wonderful things in out lives.

Hello! Thanks for coming over to see my card and hear more about it! It is truly special to me! This Thank You set has so many images, and ways to tell someone you appreciate them that it's awesome! If you're looking for some sentiment stamps, get this one! It'll cover any thank you or note of appreciation you need! All paper is from the store and she puts the featured items on sale,, so I hope you check that out I love the fall colors of this group of paper. I used the patterned paper for my border. It reminds me of a quit. (comfort) I cut the hearts out with a punch I have, and reversed the middle one so it's the honeycomb pattern on the left in the border, but that whole side of honeycomb is so great and honeycomb seems to be the "in" design right now. I stamped Thank you on the same Ivory background. I added bling, because what would hearts mean without some sparkle and shine?

I used the hearts because on the inside of the card, I stamped the expression Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Layered it and used some of the edge discard to make a border on the left.

This is going to a very special person who has helped me through the past few months with some health issues. She was able to get me into a high demand surgeon long before I should have been and that surgery is the 12th of November. She'll call and check up on me between visits, and if she sees me out, will stop what she's doing and ask if I need anything. What doctor or nurse practioner does that? She does!! So I thought I send her this little note card to tell her I appreciate her and all her concern during this health issue. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll join in the challenge!

Well, it's that time of the year for gift gifting... and for many families that begins with the Thanksgiving holiday if you're trying to fit in all the families on both sides and extended ones.. so we've put together a great hop today with plenty of ideas to make those gift cards look like a million bucks! I personally love gift cards... no hassle in returns, wrong sizes, etc. and with the ability to buy cards for even Visa and/or MasterCard, how could your gift even be considered to be regifted!
They will surely find something they want or need..
For hopping today, we have a gift for some lucky person. A 17.95 value Close To My Heart Merry and Bright Holiday Stamp set. You'll have a great little set to make your Holiday cards, gift tags, or other décor. A winner will be chosen by Nov. 6th so I can get this in the mail and off to the winner in plenty of time!.

How to win? Comment on each blog and show our creative team some love please! If you're not a follower, you might want to be... this group does a hop every first Sunday so you won't want to miss what's in store! Be sure to leave a way to contact you as well!
Now let's get hopping! You should have started with: Janet's Creative World which is exactly where you are!

I used a Sizzix Card base die to cut out a 12 inch card base. I didn't run it all the way through so it couldn't cut off the last few inches. I then folded the middle up, making score lines at 3 1/2 on each end (valley), and then a middle line at 2 1/2 inches between those, folding the middle sections up (mountain) and then using a Stampin Up Label punch to cut the middle section out so the gift card could slip in. Don't adhere the middle section together except on the very edges so it's open for the card.  In the bottom photo I stamped a sentiment. Made the belly band and used the scalloped punch and a circle punch to cover the joint. All papers and stamps are Stampin Up (I'm in a stamp club.. and yes I know I sell CTMH, but sometimes, it's good to broaden your horizons.. or my OCD that makes me want it all!! :)
The sentiment says; "Hoping your Christmas is trimmed with the love and warmth of family and friends". As is my wish for each of you stopping by today.

This was so simple, and since we give out a lot of gift cards, I can whip up my supply in no time!
