TO THE BAT CAVE ROBIN!!!
UP UP and AWAY!

Heroes don't always wear those tight leggings and great get-ups! I bet we all know someone who just goes about their day blessing others every step of the way! That would describe my husband! He'll tell you that he saved my life on our honeymoon 21 years ago. I became ill on our trip and came home to find out I had Ovarian Cancer. My family doctor thought my being sick was due to water or food on our trip or "a change in my sexual habits". Anyway, they found out what was wrong, took care of it and he took care of me! He has every time something has come up. Gall Bladder, disk issue.. maybe he's just bad luck! Nah!!  He is just an everyday guy who goes to work to provide for his beloved wife (that's me) and our family. He would do anything for any one who needed a hand, or help when ever he's called on!! He is just a great man who has taken my kids as his own and made them ours! He loves being a grandfather to the ones who are close, and misses the ones who aren't terribly!  He steps up whenever he can to make life great for all of us!! I don't know what I'd do without him, and I sure don't want to find out! He was, and still is my prince and always will be!! I'm so thankful that God put him in my life!!
I used Close To My Heart Jackson paper, and the Hero stamp to make this card. Added some bling, and while it may be simple, it reflects the recipient perfectly. He doesn't put on a false front and what you see is what you get!! He'll think it's great and appreciate the effort being made for him, not as much as I appreciate him!! Hope you enjoyed!! And may you all have a hero in your life! If you'd like to know more about the Jackson products or any Close to My Heart products, just contact me!
Now let's see what other heroes are up to and head over to Angela!

When I add my grandkids photos, that's when the gold will show up! They are all so precious to us! Hence the title- Lucky Us! Two tags for adding details of who is who, or what's going on in the photos! I used a variety of paper from my stash. If you're like me, you could paper a house both inside and out!

Keep on Truckin' Friends!! Peace!

Happy Birthday Connie!!!

I graduated high school in 1970! Go Purple Eagles!!  My friends and I roller skated every weekend! Who couldn't wait for the next issue of Tiger Beat to get those posters of the boy singers/bands? The country had a lot going on! Vietnam War, Hippies, and the phycadellic music and drug culture had parents worried!  It was a fun time, and even with all that going on, such a much calmer lifestyle! We still talked face to face or on a rotary phone! I recently took a class on making an album about yourself. I'm always the one taking the photos, and glad to be, because I hate how I look in photos. But I would like to write my own story so my grandchildren or even great grandchildren would know more about the period I grew up in, and what was going on in my life. I think I'm the person I am because of life's experiences, both good and bad. I'd like to know more about the choices I made, good and bad, and try to let them know, what life was like for me starting out on my own, and where that path has led. I'm hopeful that maybe they will see a rough spot or two is not the end of the world. So I made my title page for my album. I used Close To My Heart cardstock for the background. I found these Varsity Letters in Purple at a clearance rack! Score!! Thought they'd be perfect and reminded me of my cords we wore. I had my cords every year and my friends signed them. I wish I had kept them, but gave them to friends who opened a bar here and decorated it with the former high schools memorabilia. Anyway, this is my Senior photo. It was not taken in color then, but in that Sepia tone. My boyfriend at the time, who was drafted but ended up in Korea, took a small photo with him. He met an artist in Korea who painted the photo and much to my surprise, pretty close to the colors of shirt I had on and my hair. I was surprised my boyfriend had remembered. He had a large framed photo made and sent back to me. I still have it. (It's in the closet) Shortly after this photo was taken prior to my Senior year, I was in an auto accident and went through a windshield. No seat belts back in those days. The Emergency room shaved my hair from my ears forward. Mulletts weren't in style either then... this was the last time I had long hair and frosted it. Since then I tend to wear my hair parted the same way to cover some scars, and at my age now, long hair is more trouble than it's worth. This photo brings back so many memories, good and bad.. the boys in my Senior class never missed a chance to make fun of my scalp and the scarring during healing. I see a young woman who had her life in front of her, and for whatever reasons, the road hasn't always been easy, but I've come through..it's made me who I am today.

Winner will be chosen on Sunday, March 7th so you have all week to hop through !

For this hop I am giving away to one lucky winner is this great Project Life Recipe Pages Kit by Becky Higgins. I have one of these myself and I am using it to pulled together all of our families favorite recipes along with pictures, and tips and suggestions to give to my Daughter when she gets married.

So, grab yourself a Latte', sit back and hop along with us as we share our projects with you.

For this hop, I'm sharing two recipes! My hubby is diabetic now and trying to watch what he eats. Usually it's just what he's eating.. LOL
We took part in a Dining with Diabetes class, and these two recipes were so easy to make, and they are delicious.
The first one is a quick and easy Pudding!! My granddaughter can whip this up in no time and we all love it!

20150225_211222
2 cups skim milk, tub of low-fat whipped topping, favorite flavor of sugar-free instant pudding. That's it!!

20150225_212040

For the holidays, we put the pudding into the Phyllo Dough premade cups. Drizzled some Chocolate and/or Caramel syrup over them. Festive and still less fat!
The next one is a great and easy fried Chicken recipe without the fat and mess of frying but great taste!!

20150225_211232

Boneless/skinless chicken breasts cut into strips. While oven is preheating to 425. Marinate chicken in low-fat yogurt. Mix 2T flour, 1t Paprika, 1t Cayenne powder, 4T Grated Parmesan Cheese, 3/4 cup bread crumbs. Coat chicken with crumb mixture pressing into the chicken. Place on cookie sheet, sprayed with non-stick spray, and spray over chicken so it crisps up. Bake for 15-20 min. turning mid-way and spraying again. It's delicious!!!

I put these on 81/2 by 11 so I could put them in a 3 ring binder with page protectors. Easy to add to it, and when my granddaughter is on her own, she'll have some family favorites to take with her. She loves to cook!!

I'm giving away a Cookbook! A Healthy Recipes for Kids!
Leave a comment, with a contact info, so I can let you know if you win.!! Now head to Miranda's for more yummy goodness.

Your next stop will be with...

Miranda
