Do you like paper crafts, making cookies, crocheting or making pillows? Really anything goes for more fun and inspiration from us ladies who love to bake and do other things then paper crafts! Robin has some great blog candy, so be sure to start there and follow the directions for your chance to win!
Today I have prepared this for you. I love to papercraft, but do other crafts as well.. My resolution(s) is/are to 1. try new techniques and 2. use up all the supplies I've bought and never done anything with. C'mon, don't judge! You know you have those unfinished projects around the house. For today I'm sharing a project that Pinterest inspired. I love to see those photos of epic fails... and I've had a few.. anyway, this one turned out okay! I didn't feel comfortable hanging it, but it did make for a cute centerpiece on my holiday table. Then my granddaughter who loves, loves, loves Candy canes took it apart and plans on eating them up! I left the paper wrapping on them and just hot glued at the places where the canes touched, so I'm sure they'll be fine for that! Here's my photo!
I purchased a package of glittery snowflakes at the Dollar Tree and glued that onto the center, then added a poinsettia flower with a bow. I put a chipboard circle behind it for stability. It did look festive. Now here's a bit of trivia. This isn't what I had planned to put on my blog today. A few years ago, I took the Terra Cotta saucers and painted the inside to look like a winter scene with a snowman in it! (2005) I put hard candies on them and wrapped them for gifts that year for volunteers, little thank you gifts. My granddaughter asked if she could have one for her other grandmother. I said sure and we fixed one up for her. This past few months her husband has gone to a nursing home, and she's moved in with my (ex) son-in-law. They've cleaned out her house and the saucer turned up. My granddaughter asked if she could have it. Her dad said sure, and she wrapped it up with a kitchen towel/crochet top on it to hang in my kitchen and was so proud she had a gift to give me! Imagine my surprise when I opened it! I hadn't saved one for myself, gave them all away so I was glad to get it. I meant to photograph it for my blog, but got all the holiday décor put up and away and slap me upside the head, it was put up. I didn't dare ask my husband to get those totes back out... Maybe next year when I unpack those items, I 'll put it on my blog. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season!! Here's to a happy New Year! Please come back to my blog soon!
