If you're at my blog from Suzanne then you're on the right track! Check out my project!

I used a file that Cheryl will be adding to the store called Our Heros to celebrate Freedom! The file includes both the girl and boy heros, and a title, Welcome Home. She made me the Freedom isn't Free title for my project. I'll post each page separately, but let me tell you about my layout. We have a large reserve unit that is in Afghanistan now. In the past month, three young men have been lost protecting our freedom. I wanted to pay tribute to these young men who were sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers! Since the military is all about ship shape, clean, etc. I kept my layout clean, and left some space for a family of one of the young men to put some additional newspaper clippings or other mementos that were important for them. Maybe some journaling even.
I added a border that says USA around the photo mat, which seemed appropriate rather than ribbon.
I cut Freedom Isn't Free out twice, red and blue, and then offset it so I could have a Red, White, and Blue theme. I double matted the photo mat and the poem the same way. The poem is one I found online at a military site and was just perfect for my title and this layout. When I post the pages separately, you'll be able to read it. My husband, a former Marine, cried when I showed him the pages and he read the poem. He was in the military during Viet Nam, so lots of our classmates gave their life during that period. I added some stickers -Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. I wish that sticker said, Land of the Free BECAUSE of the Brave. I hope if you take part in 4th of July celeberations, you'll take a few moments to remember what a sacrifice our military personnel makes for all of us. Be sure to Thank a veteran!  Here's each page separately!

This is the girl hero. (The flowers are a spray I'm putting on a family member's grave.)

This is the boy hero. Click on the photo to see the poem up closer. Grab your tissue first!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today and I hope you're enjoying the blog hop!

Over at Erica's Craft room- http://ericascraftroom.blogspot.com/ you'll find Camping or Scouting layouts today for our theme. I have years of Girl Scouting camping photos, but I"m working on a friend's album for her Father-in-Law and it was supppose to be done for him for Father's Day but my surgery has slowed that down. In light of that, I am multi-tasking as I try to get caught up before I have addtional surgery in the next couple of weeks.
I used Campin' Critters, which is a cartridge I love!! The critters are so cute!! Here's my layout, then we'll chat!

I used the Dutch Oven Cook-Off sign as my title.  He's cooking beans over a huge fire pit and in his dutch oven. I love dutch oven cooking and doesn't everything taste better when it's cooked out-of-doors! I made the litle guy trying to catch some flames to roast his marshmallow which I"m sure will be part of a S'more. (Those are my favorite!) The little wolf is ringing his dinner bell and it looks like Jim is tasting his beans before sharing them with the family! After finishing this page, now I'm hungry for some outdoor cooking but it's expected to be 105 today here and we have a fire ban and a red flag warning so I'd better cook something inside tonight! Be sure to check out all the sales and specials over at the store! There are lots of new cartridges and other deals over there. Here's the link for you! Happy Shopping!

Well, I have been missing for the past few weeks. After some emergency surgery, and I'll have another one to complete the issues this coming month, I'm back to crafting! This blog hop will have you standing up and saluting with all the patriotic projects! I hope you'll stop by.

And for Friday, my Scrapbook post for Erica's Room will be devoted to Scouting or Camping as our themes this week!
I've missed chatting with all of you, so I hope to see you all here Friday and Saturday as I get back into the routine! Have a terrific week!

Today's theme was School. So I used my darling grand daughter's final report card and a class photo to remember my little smarty pants leaving elementary for middle school! We're so proud of her! Enough about her.. I used Locker Talk to cut my phrases and Cricut Keystone to cut out her name. Check it out!
See all those A's!! I used the large A+ and Good Job to show her just how proud of her we are! Perhaps she doesn't take after us... LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

My turn to post! I used the  Mommy's Little Helper to make this cute layout to scrapbook making cookies with my grandaughter! I just left the Mommy part of the title off. I used paper from the Mambi Collection- What's Cookin'? I just love that stack of papers!

Added some bling to the icing, twine on the photo mats and my favorite cookie recipe. It never fails! I've been teaching girls how to make these in Girl Scout cooking programs for years. My daughters loved them, and now my grandaughter is making them! Funny story-one program, a Mom helped at this station. She was so impressed, she used these when her little boy came home one night and said he needed cookies for school the next morning! She was thrilled she knew how to do these and everything was in the kitchen! Made her look like Mom of the Year and she can use different flavors and with some favorite add ins, always a treat! I used the Cookie Jar and Rolling Pin from the Mommy's part of the title and with a little baking, we'll have that jar full in no time! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head over to the blog or Facebook. There's always fun going on at the Creative Kuts Fan page!

Who Hoo!! I reached 300 followers! Not sure if it's because of awesome creativity (LOL) or the stories which makes life on Planet Janet somewhat hysterical! But I've picked two people, one from each weekend's hop and if you are in fact somewhat of a hoarder like me- I'll be sending some more stash your way!
I've emailed both people and once they respond I'll post their names and if I don't hear from them, I'll redraw!
Thank you everyone for stopping by my blog, and your comments which I show my hubby so when he says scrap crap- I can prove it's art! Have just the best week ever!!
Watch for two new projects this Friday!
