If you're at my blog from Suzanne then you're on the right track! Check out my project!

I used a file that Cheryl will be adding to the store called Our Heros to celebrate Freedom! The file includes both the girl and boy heros, and a title, Welcome Home. She made me the Freedom isn't Free title for my project. I'll post each page separately, but let me tell you about my layout. We have a large reserve unit that is in Afghanistan now. In the past month, three young men have been lost protecting our freedom. I wanted to pay tribute to these young men who were sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers! Since the military is all about ship shape, clean, etc. I kept my layout clean, and left some space for a family of one of the young men to put some additional newspaper clippings or other mementos that were important for them. Maybe some journaling even.
I added a border that says USA around the photo mat, which seemed appropriate rather than ribbon.
I cut Freedom Isn't Free out twice, red and blue, and then offset it so I could have a Red, White, and Blue theme. I double matted the photo mat and the poem the same way. The poem is one I found online at a military site and was just perfect for my title and this layout. When I post the pages separately, you'll be able to read it. My husband, a former Marine, cried when I showed him the pages and he read the poem. He was in the military during Viet Nam, so lots of our classmates gave their life during that period. I added some stickers -Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. I wish that sticker said, Land of the Free BECAUSE of the Brave. I hope if you take part in 4th of July celeberations, you'll take a few moments to remember what a sacrifice our military personnel makes for all of us. Be sure to Thank a veteran!  Here's each page separately!

This is the girl hero. (The flowers are a spray I'm putting on a family member's grave.)

This is the boy hero. Click on the photo to see the poem up closer. Grab your tissue first!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today and I hope you're enjoying the blog hop!
