Happy Tuesday! Today was Anything goes.. so I made a card using my Artiste Cricut Cartridge (the new one from Close to My Heart) and punches. Here's my card, then we'll chat.

I cut the accent from Artiste, cutting off the left side (holes for a mini album) Punched out the vase (ornament and I cut the pointed end flat for the vase look) and punched out leaves in colors for my flowers. added a ribbon then layered everything on top. I used a perforating tool to put holes around the accent. You could sew it without thread and have the holes, but I have this wheel from a job I had and it came in handy... anyway, head over to Erica's to check out other projects today and everyday!

Check out my projects! I used the Angel File over at Creative Kuts.
http://creativekuts.com/Angels-A723.htm

For this card, I used a Christmas Tree background paper, cut to fit my card size, which is 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches.  I added a sentiment and layered that with twine around the layers and popped the stamp image on top. I used Stickles on the wings, so they sparkle! I wanted the angels to look light and airy so I used my colored pencils to keep the colors light. Copics for the skin and hair. I added Silver Stickles to the stars so they sparkle!  I'm not sure whose stamp this is, but it says Joy Is In the Air! And that's so true at the holidays. People are nicer, music is lively and the smells of everygreen is wonderful. Christmas is a holiday for all the senses!

For this card, same size as the other one, (envelopes to fit that size from Wal-Mart), I used a snowflake background paper, added some snowflake embellishments so there's dimension as well as in my paper piecing. Again, I used Copic's for the hair and skin tone, but colored pencils on their clothing so they appear light and airy! Red stickles ( I love Stickles..) on her heart accent and Silver on her Star Tiara really makes this card sparkle as well. Isn't that what the holidays are all about? Sparkle? I think so, now check out the inside of this card-

See how the Red heart on the front, is continued here in this stamp (CTMH) and it's exactly my wish for all of you this holiday season, Good Wishes for the whole year through!
I hope you've found some inspiration here and as you continue on your blog hop! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy Holidays to all!

My Cricut Craft Room

Today's theme was Music! My granddaughter has played the recorder at her elementary school for the past 2-3 years. Every child does that in their music classes, and she wants to play the Clarinet as she goes to middle school this year! I played the Clarinet in school, elementary through high school but the years and no practice since then, I won't be much help.. anyway take a look then I'll tell you what cartridges I used.

I used Hannah Montana to cut the music notes, and her name out with. I used A Child's Year to cut the girl playing something but it looked close enough to a recorder and I have some photos of her playing. I used Cricut Keystone to cut my sentiment-You Make My Sing and a Stampin' Up heart punch to punch the little red heart! Added my photo mat onto some 12 x 12 Music scrapbook paper from Jeffrey Alan's I believe but it was perfect for the background. Because it was black and white, and the Child's Year cut lends itself to black well, I stuck with those two colors then added the pop of red! I hope you enjoyed your visit today with me! I look forward to seeing you again soon! Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you'll stop by this weekend for a Warm Christmas in July Blog Hop! Lots of ideas to get your creative juices flowing and a head start on your holidays!

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Merry Christmas! I know, it's only July! We're celebrating early so you have plenty of time to pick out cute Christmas files and get your cards made for your family and friends, or for some home decor. This file Joy- http://www.creativekuts.com/JOY-JT1117.htm/   would be great as a plaque, or on a layout of your family. So many ideas and this little card was a cinch to do with the files. I cut it all out of white textured cardstock on my Cameo (which Wonderful World of Creative Kuts sells) http://www.creativekutsww.com/ then colored it all with my Copics. I love coloring and in a busy season, it can be so relaxing.. or have the kids color for you. What a personal touch that would be for your holiday cards. I added Liquid Pearls for my frosting on the Gingerbread boy, you can never have too much icing.. and Red Stickles for my Holly berries. Added a bow to my Wreath, and some White Stickes for the fur on the stocking and the hat and this little gem just sparkles!  The background paper is from a CVWV Mat Stack, The Christmas Mat Stack I got at JoAnn's.What do you think? I think I can whip up some more before the holidays!

Hello! I love Theme Days and today our theme is Bath! Well, with two new little ones on the way soon and one's a girl and one's a boy, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I used Cricut New Arrival, Baby Steps, and Imagine Nursery Tails to make this layout! Check it out and I'll tell you which item is from which cart!

I cut the Bath tub and little girl from Baby Steps. I used Stickles from Erica's Craft Room to make the bubbles pop. I cut bath time from New Arrival and added some blingy white pearls to the bubbles that have floated away! I put those and two mats onto a 12 x 12 page I printed on my Imagine with Nursery Tails. I have to say, I love printing my own 12 x 12 paper! I can never run out.. LOL
Now to just see when she gets here if I can get some photos that will be perfect to add!

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room

100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop Day ONE

You should have started at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/ if not please start at the beginning

Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's one year "BLOG-iversary" of our first 100 cartridge Blog hop!
A year ago the blog was kicked off with the first design team members and daily postings. It took 2 months to get ready for this hop last year. Now we bring it to you the first full weekend of every month.
Collectively the design team uses over 100 different Cricut Cartridges in their projects during the two days of this hop. Sunday the new members of the design team will be announced and some have even made a project to share with you!! What an exciting weekend!!
As special treat enjoy 10% off of your total purchase with Erica's Craft Room Store.
Use the code JULY to see 10% off of your total purchase (No exclusions)
on July 7 & 8. Also on Sunday there will be an exciting announcement!!!
Here's My Project(s)
Frist of all I used the Batman Cartridge, which is great if you have boys! Or grown men who think they're still boys.. anyway

I used the Batman cartridge to cut the speech balloon shape, and the letters Happy Birthday. The stamp and paper is from Close to My Heart. I cut the balloon at 2.5 inches, the letters at 1.5 I think this will tell my favorite little boy to have a super Birthday celebration. I colored in the super hero with markers and lined the inside with plain white cardstock to write a message.

Next I used the Lite Cartridge Beep Beep

The Let's Go and shadow is from Beep Beep and cut at 4 inches. Remember items are measured top to bottom, and this was the biggest I could go and fit on my 12 x 12 mat. So when you punch in a shape and it comes up all gray on the mat, don't panic! It means it is sized too big to fit and you just need to reduce the size until it shows up on the mat screen. This is my friend's hubby car. He and his Dad worked on this to rebuild it and it really brought them closer together. Wouldn't it be nice if more Dads and their sons did this instead of all the tech toys where no one interacts face to face anymore? His eyes light up when he talks about the time they spent on this and that was years ago, he's in his 30's now. They really bonded and look what they have to show for it! He's putting together an album for a belated Father's Day album and this is just one page he asked me to do. Now for my other cartridge and projects, are some other pages for this album.

I used Animal Kingdom to make the titles for these pages.

They LOVE their dogs. Small ones, big ones, and I cut the titles at 4 inches. Layered the photos and left some room on the Bark page for them to put the dog's name on. These are their furry "kids"
I think my friend and her hubby's father will be so surprised that they've put in this album what's special to him and some of the fun times they've had. I hope you enjoyed my blog today and our hop.
Now you're onto:

Now for my project...

Today's project is a Nod to that wonderful and noisy holiday July 4th. I have a friend who has a birthday that day, but I haven't seen her yet, as she's on vacation and in Las Vegas! I sure hope she's lucky but I'll buy her lunch one day when she returns and give her this. I used red cardstock for the card base, a red print from the Super Hero collection at CTMH. I stamped the sentiment from a CTMH set and layered it, rounding the corners on the bottom to look like a banner you might see on a porch, bandstand, or political rally. Added a border from K and Company and some stars from the .97 collection at Wal-Mart. I think it reflects this month and if I had put another sentiment on it, could easily be for a Veteran or Military person. I hope your 4th was safe and an enjoyable.
I am leaving my project from yesterday here in case you're just dropping by today. Be sure to follow the rules for all the blog candy!

For my summertime layout, I made flowers. With all this heat and drought conditions, my flower beds and garden are looking like an ad for Worst Gardener in the Country. But this page brightened my day and when I add a photo of my granddaughter it'll be just perfect with her big smile.

I used my Cameo to cut the title: The perfect summer day and the flowers. The background page is from a stack and has pink and yellow flowers on it. The flowers are from the Silhouette store and the pink one is cut and easy to pull up the petals and give it a real 3-D look. The yellow cuts in 5 layers and again, easy to stack add a brad to the center but I curled the petals, so while the photo doesn't show it, they are both 3-D. I inked the petals. Added a couple of borders, two mats with some ribbon to slip my photos into. How will my granddaughter and I have the perfect summer day? Well, we probably have different ideas but I know she'll have plenty that she'll want to do so having two photos won't be a problem! Maybe I'll give her a choice, then I'll make the choice and put photos from each of our choices. With her, it's a perfect day no matter what we do! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

In addition to this we have two sponsors this month
